Funny Nuggets...

Avery, on being excited about finally having "real life" earrings: "Now I look just like a Mommy!!"

Charlie: "Look Daddy, Pico (the black cat) is getting white hair!"
Avery: "Yah, Pico is starting to DIE!!!"

Avery, as we leave the gym: "When I am a mommy, I am going to go to Bodypump. And Bible study."

Amy (a girlfriend of mine) while at dinner at their house: "Avery, you have such a good mommy!"
Avery, in response: "Yep, but sometimes she spanks me."

Avery: "Grrrhhrrrhh!!!! Mommy, I'm trying rrrrrrrrrrreally rrrrrrrreally hard to grow!!!!"

As you can imagine, Avery is the comedienne of the family and keeps us constantly in stitches... thought I might document some of it (thanks Jess).

Avery gets her ears pierced!

Two weeks ago, the kids and I were at the mall looking for a birthday gift for Paul. Avery had been asking about getting "real life" earrings for a while. We had discussed that it would hurt, and that we would have to take care of them, etc... but she was unphased and determined. So I thought... Why not? Off we went to Claire's... she was so brave and determined, and only cried for about 15 seconds until we showed her a mirror and she realized that she had "real life" earrings. She has literally been beaming ever since! My only regret about being so impulsive is that I didn't have a camera on hand to capture the moment! Avery and Daddy making a silly face... but you can see her pretty little pink CZ's :) And, as you can see, her hair is SLOWLY growing out... Keep in mind the Hair Massacre was back in mid November... this is FOUR months of growout, and we still have a way to go. We'll get there! But I can't wait till she has her little bob back :)

A Day at the Zoo

Suffice to say that I have been more than neglectful of this blog... Instead of feeling guilty about it , I've decided to simply start fresh with a new year (albeit March...) and just move forward :) Sorry for those of you who have been faithfully checking for updates... I will do my best from here on out!
This last Sunday afternoon, we decided to head to the zoo with some friends of ours, the Grothkopps. Of course we didnt get any pictures of them... but at least I remembered my camera and decided it would be a good opportunity to snap some family shots and begin blogging again. The kids had a great time, it was a nice day, and the animals were all out for us to see, which was a first!!
These kiddos are so fun right now... such great ages and are all fairly independant, so it's easy to do outings like this and have it be fun for everyone. Thanks to Luke and Gina for getting us out of Snoqualmie!!
